Lockers for Non LS rear end

I have been tossing around the idea of switching my differential gears. I currently have 3.55 non limited slip. I am concerned about my traction in snow, ice and mud with the non limited slip rear end.

The cost of making a whole sale gear swap is prohibitive right now. However I can add a locker to my differential for around $350.00. As anyone else made this change. Are there any con's to doing this that I should think about.

do a search in the V6 forum. There's been a lot of talk about this in there lately. Talleywacker just added a Pwertrax Locker. Check it out.

I have been watching that thread. I think the one he added was a manual locker. The one i was looking at was not manual, it somehow kicks in on its own.

I stand corrected . How is it working out for you. Have you had it long enough to use it in a place where you might have been stuck before. Is there any noise when it unlocks.
