There was a thread a while back about converting to white faced instruments in the Aftermarket message area. Try doing a search. That thread had the instructions on how to remove the instument panel. It sounded fairly simple. As I recall, you popped off the trim, pulled out a some screws and the instrument cluster came out.

What year truck? My 1999 was real fun taking the instrument panel out. First disconnect the battery negative cable for safety and peace of mind. Turn the headlights on and pull the switch out. A little hole will appear on the bottom of the switch **** ( opposite end from pointer ) push a little, tiny screwdriver blade in the hole to release the ****, DON'T FORCE! Turn the **** 180 degress and put back on. Turn the **** to release the headlight switch. Take out the little red tabs and remove the wiring connectors. Remove the trim piece around and over the steering column being careful not to scratch the steering column cover. Remove the screws holding the dash cover in place and remove the dash cover. Unscrew the transmission indicator cable holder from the bottom of the steering column and unhook the cable from the little hook on the shifter. Remove the screws holding the instrument cluster and remove the instrument cluster. It is a nerve racking process and easy to scratch up the plastic I/P face. Be careful and don't rush! If you have a good mechanical apptitude and take your time you should be ok. When you reinstall the transmission indicator cable it may be necessary to adjust the little pointer, there is a little wheel on the holder to do this. Good Luck

Michael
