Rear Diff

Just got my son a 1997 F-150, Auto/4.6 with a 3.08 rear end. Considering going to a 3.55 or a 3.73. How difficult would this operation be, or, how much could I expect to pay to have it done?

It's not difficult, but it does take specialized tools and experience to do a "quiet, long lasting" setup. A straight gear swap should cost you about $550 on a single/rear 8.8" axle.
