I would like to compare everyone's experience with the driveshaft clunk when coming to a stop or accelerating form a stop. I have tried unsuccessfully to determine the cause. The dealers have replaced the driveshaft and yoke but this has not cured the problem. One thing I have noticed is that if I shift the automatic transmission from drive to nuetral at about 20 mph and then come to a stop, the driveshaft seems very tight and there is no clunk at all. I have tried this numerous times with the same results, but as soon as I attempt to stop with the transmission in drive I get the hard clunk. I'm wondering if the clunk is caused by a transmission or rear end problem.

 

Try loading the bed of your truck with like > 500 #'s of something. See if it still clunks.

I just know on my rig, it did that same thing when empty. But when loaded up, it wouldn't. I'm sure it had something to do with the leaf springs.

I ended up getting some overload springs to keep the rear end from dropping to the stops whenever I loaded it up. Every since then, my clunk has stopped. Even empty. Also stopped the wheel hop problem I had too.

Maybe not the same thing that's going on in your case, but I'd try that loaded up thing to just see.
