Front End Alignment
Front End Alignment
I have struggled with a slight pull to the right on my '97 F150 ORP for thousands of miles now. No unusual tire wear, but it is just a nagging problem. I asked a Goodyear dealer to align the front end when I did a tire changeover, and he said that unless I couldn't live with the slight pull, he would not recommend realignment due to the cost - normal alignment procedures would not correct the problem, thus the cost would be significantly more.
What the heck?? Is it such a big deal, or ya think they just didn't want the business? Anybody with any experience with this?

Usually they recommend an alignment anytime you get new tires. I don't know why they said a normal alignment won't cure it. If you have lifted or lowered your truck they would have to do a custom alignment which would be more expensive. Other than that i don't know what there talking about????

The problem is our trucks come with a non ajusting caster and camber bolt, all you have to do is to repeplace it with one that adjusts this can be found at your local part dealer or your front end shop. do the install your self and save youself a little money, Its the top a arm bolt on two wheel drives .

Front End Aligment
I had the same problem on my 2001 4x4 supercab with ORP tires and wheels. Swap the front tires side to side and if the truck pulls in the opposite direction then your problem is tire pull. The dealer replaced all 4 of my tires 2 at a time. Hope this helps
I had a slight pull with my truck and the dealer said it was normal. Soon after the road noise started getting louder and louder. I now have two tires cuped to the point of ruin. I had the front end aligned by a different Ford dealer and the cupped tires moved to the rear. The road noise disappeared from the front but was horrible from the rear,
I pulled off on a side road and power braked it a bit and burned off about 10,000 miles of wear and its fine and dandy now. However, I plan on putting some new BFG's on it this fall.
Any one out there know if the BFG 33x12.5x17s are available yet? I heard a while back they were coming but haven't seen them yet.
Also will they fit my truck without having any suspension mods? I heard they would but I'm not sure. Has any put this size on a stock truck?
