My 96 F-150 with only 38 k has lost its ability to engage the front wheels ....imagine that ...I have talked to a number of people on this subject and have been steered in the direction of replacing my auto hubs with manual hubs....this seems to be a common problem with the auto matic hubs....Any one out there got any other info for me ...I would like to make the right decision . took it to a local mechanic ...and we discovered that it is engaging at the transfer case...but something is broken in the hub....you can hear it clicking...cleaned it up and lubed it ...still no good....

 

replace the auto lock assy in the hubs there about 75 bucks ea i see alot of them
