Post Socket Size?

Read a lot of posts on changing out auto hubs to manuals. I have a 95 F150 will be changing out to manual WARN's this weekend. I found many people saying that you need a special socket to get the auto's off and the new manuals on but no one gave the size of either. Any help would be appreciated.

Four Wheel Drive Spindle Nut socket. Says for 86 and up Bronco and light trucks with Dana 44 axles. Roughly 3 inches in diameter, maybe 3 - 4 inches long, one end closed with 1/2 inch drive hole, other end is an open cylinder with 4 tabs sticking out, evenly spaced around the rim. Each tab is about 1/4 x 1/4 inch, and is an integral part of the socket. The socket is black, not chrome. Try AutoZone or other similar auto parts place. Usually out with the tools. To use it, you push in hard, then turn while pushing in.

Happy hubbing. And welcome to the biggest and best late-model F-150 site there is!! And pretty good for the older ones too, many of us have both.

Thanks Granpa, I remember reading your posts. You had a good bit of trouble with the hubs. Now I should be able to get everything I need to do this job without running to the store in the middle of it. Thanks again.
