4low engaged itself while driving

Ran into a problem i just cant seem to figure out.
driving out of a parking lot yesterday the truck jumped and engages 4low.
will not disengage. Had to crawl under and remove the transfer case motor and manually engaged 2H.
first tested the switch. Resistances from pin 2 and 3 are right around what it calls for (130-270-630) switch is getting power.
both 4x4 relays check out fine.
transfer motor looks good, bushes are fine bearings good and absolutly no corrosion.
found fuse 11 blown that controls AC clutch and 4x4 vac solenoid. I do run ac all the time as for some reason i save a considerable amount of gas.
how could this have happened? Could a short in the ac clutch work its way back to the GEM causing some kind of error throwing it into 4low?
maybe a short?
I heard there is a safety measure incorporated to not allow the truck to go into 4low unless placed in neutral and brake pressed.
this is very stressful as its been snowing for a few days and i have no 4x4 untell the problem is resolved
i do not want to drive it and have it go into 4low while lets say on the freeway.
Any imput much appreciated!
