Ok, long story short. I blew the drivers side lower ball joint ripping the cv axle (half shaft and all) from the front diff. I'm trying to figure out if my he half shaft is held in the front diff with a c clip or if it just sits in there. No luck with google or asking friends. I'd hate to open the diff if it's not needed. I've been told that there is a c clip and I've been told that there isn't. I need to get this thing back on the road asap. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

This may help. I suspect from your description you may have ripped the flange out of the diff?

 

Thanks for the video. I did indeed pull the flange out of the drivers side of the diff. I was wondering how that was held in place. I have a picture, but can't seem to get it uploaded.
