Big blue

1993 F150 has run perfect for 15 years. started the other day on first click as usual then started missing like starved for fuel. Switched tanks and no change. Recently changed fuel filter. the "mechanic" working on it has already burned up a starter from cranking the motor over and over with no luck figuring the problem out. Any suggestions? really love my truck. Need some help!

Has he tested the fuel pressure at the rail?

When were the spark plugs replaced?

Has he doublechecked the timing?

mine did this when the mass air flow sensor died. you can disconnect it to see if it changes the way it runs and if so, buy a can of cleaner and clean it. It should throw a code. When my sensor went out it started rough, idled rough and ran like it was misfiring. I was going to check it out that night but I had an errand to run. When I went to start it up, it wouldn't start at all. I disconnected it to get it running and went to partstore and bought a new sensor. 2001 f150
