Gears... Hmm...
That's about the same pricing I'm being quoted her in the Pacific NW. The gears themselves cost around $250 just the rear then you have to get the Master Kit $130 or so, figure in approx 8 hrs of labor @ $100 per hour.
This is the best I got quoted $1,800 for the following:
Yukon 4.56 gears 4x4
Master kit new rings, bearings etc
TrueTrac LSD <--I have a hook up for one so I'm supplying

I gotcha. Luckily I won't have to pay for install. I work at my dad's mechanic shop when I'm not away at school, so I can have our head mechanic install everything for me one day. What are some of the better brands to use? I'm not wanting get something crappy but at the same time, I don't want to pay for the top of the line gears.
and if you off road or just want better traction, a locker would help.
