honestly it probably has to do with the electric throttle, and gearing

the 4.6 has a higher stall convertor, for more torque, so when mine's flashing (multiplying) im actually making more torque then 5.4 does

Who makes a quality gear? Cause I'll go with 4.30. I'm in the same boat beside I don't tow I just like spirited runs from stop light to stop light!Haha!

ive never heard anything bad about yukon, which is why i run them, but i also think ford racing makes a 4.30 set too. either of those would work great.

I've seen motive gears for cheap but never heard of them, probably for a reason.

yeah, i didnt want to go cheap on such a critical part of the truck. i picked yukon because they pretty much dominate the off road scene with high HP trucks and big tires.

so when you getting the gears put in?

Can't find any 4:30 gears from a reputable company online. Only Motive. Looks like 4:11 is the only option.

I just went to the actual Yukon Gear site - they don't make 4.30's for the 00-07 9.75" rear.

I'll have to do some research on Motive. I know about Yukon and Ford racing.
