456's soon

since parts are half the price online I went to a transmission shop recomended by the top performance shops in the area for a quote on just the labour for the gear swap to 456's and they said 1300$. Is there that much labour involved in swapping my gears on my 04 FX4 (front and rear)??

I have my gears sitting in my room and i'm still looking for a shop to install them a month later.. One shop said 600 and another says 900. Neither will warranty their work which is why i'm holding out still, that's what's most important to me.

Also I got my gears from diffsonly.com Call and mention you heard about him on the forum and he can get you 4.56's for the front and rear plus master install kits all yukon brand for just over 800 shipped as long as you don't live in a state that he has a warehouse because then he charges you tax (I didn't) Good luck man

usually shops charge more for labor if you dont buy the gears from them. but $1300 is pretty high.

thanks I thought it was a bit high. I was sorta expecting about a grand.

Since I have just about 200 000 km's(125 000 miles) I was also thinking the limited slip's going to need some work, or just getting the tru track front and rear for about 1000$.

Is there any opinions on where the tru track shines or sucks terrain wise?

$1300 is way high, even with a warranty. $800 tops, warrantied is fair. It is only a few hrs of their time and a lot of double checking.

edit:

That exhaust is going to sound/perform great with 4.56s though! I really envy you!
