YES! That is why I preach in every cv axle thread to just put a boot kit on. My T bars are cranked up I have and do go full steering lock WOT in 4x4 and am yet to break an axle on my truck. I can twist Moog idler arms on command. A buddy of mine had a 96 chev that would constantly break aftermarket axles. It is usually the cage that breaks but he managed to break the shaft a few times. I have more power than he was making and more aggressive tires than he had. It wasn't "fixed" until we got a junk yard axle for it.

After market axles are good if you drive civilized but do not like abuse.

Right, trying to avoid the crap. Making sure I'm thinking straight about it.

Mann, I wish I never cranked those T-bars. Never had front end problems before and this is nothing in comparison. Truck road like a junker, parts coming loose, went thru a set of tires, quick. Front end would not keep alignment and it would never align properly, even after a new cam kit. So yea, this nothing compared to other headaches in the past.

Questioning now whether or not I have the pre-load right on the T-bars. I counted turns and documented because one side was different than the other. But, I messed around with it so much, I lost track.

Not sure how to get that perfect. Alignment shops won't touch the T-bars. So I have to figure out away to get that perfect. They're close to factory settings, but I know they are not perfect.

See See what yuh did ? You got my hopes up for nuttin!

That's alright lol.

I have found a lot of salvage yard units for 40 or 50 bucks. They show you a pic of the vehicle it came from and how many miles. Hell mine have over 300,000 miles on them. It may be worth purchasing a used set with low miles..?

Sh....Idunno. They won't be as purdy.

lol, just please don't bold me. HAHA.

they sure are purdy though, and trust me, i will be abusing them. so i'm hoping nothing goes wrong. Do we know if anybody has honestly had any BAD experiences with them yet? i wil be sure to let everybody know if something goes wrong or they stop working for some stupid reason ar the boot splits again. i know the previous owner abused the stock ones all the time and for all i know i just hit something just right to finally split the boot, this dry arizona heat can do some serious damage. and i was being quite rough the day after i bought it. found some awesome mud that was hiding a huge rock. cracked me windshield when i hit it. don't tell the lady though...

and heck, if it does fail for any reason, pull it out, and go get a new one and keep on going. maybe thats the wrong mindset to have but i like to learn from my mistakes. that means check for rocks first from now on.

What kind of driving do you do when you DO drive it? (lotsa do's in there)

Yea, been bolded quite a bit recently. That putz was wizzed. Good deal

As far as bad experiences, yea Gotts touched on that a bit, it can and has happened in the past with replacement parts. You just don't know if it will stand up when it's really put to the test. Never know what your going to get into with a truck. If mine could talk. lol.
