youre good, 1,000 miles isnt anything.

i decided to go with yukon gears for my truck and so have many others here. they just have a great reputation for being quality gears.

do you ever take your truck offroading? now would be a good time to add a locker if you do.

Now that you mention the brand of Yukon, I recall others mentioning that here in the forum, so that's good.

I don't really do any off roading. If I go off road, it's driving off the main road to a dirt road leading to a camp site or something. But I don't wheel it or anything like that.

I don't really tow anything at the moment, but it is kind of sluggish now with the lift and bigger tires.

Can anybody make a recommendation?
I'm assuming your truck is 4x4. If it is then that's as good of price as you can find and 4.88 is a good ratio. Maybe 4.56 if you do mostly highway driving and not heavy towing frequently. If you're 2wd then $1,500 is too much just to regear the back axle. My truck is 4x4 and I paid a little over $1,600 to regear it

Well I went with the 4.56 yukon gears. Heading out camping this afternoon, so I will see how it does. Should be much better.

Yea MossyOak, it is a 4X4 and it was about $1,500 to have them put on. I just posted about an issuing I think I may be having in regards to the gears having a "whine" sound. I'm not sure if this is normal or part of the "break in" period, or if I should be concerned, etc.
