Try this link it gives you all the axle codes on ford vehicles

You just have to look on the drivers side door sticker for the code.

 

Thanks everyone for your advice. Sorry to revive an old thread but I just got finished pulling an explorer 8.8 L73 and I can't wait to put it in! I just hope the backlash is ok. I'm not sure if I should use my shims in my truck on the new carrier or the shims from the explorer?
