trac loc

Well I installed my trac loc/lsd today in about 3.5 hours and I can tell a big difference in traction and no more one wheel peels. So I'm very happy with it. The rear end kick out pritty easily now just gotta keep it under control.

Yea its pritty straight forward, does your truck have rear disk breats or drums ?? Just make sure u use red locktight on the ring gear bolts, center pin bolt, and the bearing cap bolts and tq them to 80 ftlbs, the center pin tq to 15 ftlbs or so

Mines a 8.8 how hard I would say 6 or so, its just time consuming the hardest part was gettin the parken brake shoes back together and on, swapin the carriers was simple. Just take your time and you will be fine it was a lot easier than I thought it was gonna be.

Just make sure u put the bearing caps on the same sides they came from with the arrows pointing out and the shims have to be put on the same way also and same with the C clips, redlock tight the ring gear bolts bearing cap bolts and the center pin bolt and your all set

Check your backlash too. Likely it will vary considerably with a carrier change.

I'd buy a shim pack and a gauge to make this a good go of it.

You'll want to set it near the lower limit.
