Special tool??

Does anyone know where I can rent the splined compression tool to compress the clutch packs in a 9.75 carrier assembly?
tried local auto zone, napa and carquest..
I need this tool to remove the spider gears to get the clutches out of the carrier assembly. Right?

could i just use a piece of all-thread and some nuts???

help please!!

ok.. so knowone wants to talk to me? I must smell bad or somthing.

FYI: 3/4" all-thread will not work. Compressed everything about 1/4" then the nuts started stripping and the threaded rod began to twist.

I stoped before I broke the rod. But now I got a bigger problem. Since the nuts started stripping my home made tool is now stuck in the carrrier! #%^&$$!!!

Purhaps if i would have used fine thread all-thread I might have had a chance.

It's a piece of rod stock that has been threaded from end to end.....a person can cut it to whatever length they need...hence the term 'all thread'......some call it 'threaded rod'....
