Which gears??

I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew, 4.6L v-8 with 4in lift kit and 35" tires. I am in the near future going to have to replace my gears on my truck. Last year I started hearing a popping noise when I would turn left so I took it to an automotive repair shop and found out that my gears had eaten themselves. So I had to shell out $2000 to have my rear end rebuilt. Yesterday I was making a left hand turn and heard the popping noise again. With all this said...I would like an opinion on what gear ratio I need to put in.

4.56 if you do much city driving. If you do almost all highway then possibly 4.10. I'm getting 35s soon and I'm getting 4.56. I would think 4.88 would be a little much

4.88's are not a bit much with a 4.6, it needs all the help it can get, there's not much low end torque to begin with. If you had a 5.4, that would be a different story.

Installation with G2 Rear diff cover, 5 extra quarts of oil to change after 1000 miles totalled $1705 out the door with tax...
