Personally, I wouldn't go more than 4.10.
I'm running 305/40/22

Here's what I come up with for 305/45-22

mph 3.73 4.10 4.30 4.56
70 1916 2106 2202 2342
85 2327 2557 2682 2844

The 4.30s might be the ticket for your larger O.D. tires.

Alrighty well then thats the way i'll go. Just to clarify I had a typo and put 45 instead of 40 my tires are 305/40/22 but I don't think it'll matter much those numbers look fine. Thanks

Actually that 305/40 would be closer to the stock tire diameter. A 45% aspect ratio adds an inch to the diameter.

Ok well i've decided to go with the 4.30 gears. I have the money ready to buy them. But before i buy. Can you guys tell me everything i'll need and possibly give me some links. I want to be able to walk in a shop and not have to buy anything extra from them. Also quality matters for me i'd like these to last for a long long time. I can handle the install if you guys can just help me out with all the parts. Thanks

I don't know if you'll need to buy an install kit for just gears. I know if your mileage is over 30K and you're swapping in a new differential, a master install kit is generally recommended. You can buy the fluids if you want, but performance shops usually carry it. If you do buy fluids, don't spend $100 on Amsoil or Royal Purple, it's just going to get dumped after the 100-500 mile break in.

Hopefully someone will post that done just a gear swap and not the whole shebang like I'm doing.

I'm curious what shop you're going with. I can't find anyone under $1200 somewhat local for parts and labor. When I was back in Michigan I had my 2wd Ranger done for $600.

I'll be having this done is Virginia or North Carolina. I won't be back in Daytona until early September at the earliest.

o nono i can burn them all day. I just want to re gear so that when i stomp the gas the tires can break free. In other words the only way i can smoke the tires now is power breaking. I want it so that all i have to do is hit the gas for them to spin

Hell yea. Well ur automatic, but i prolly wouldn't go above a 4.10 or 4.30 on a daily driver unless u plan on putting some big tires on. (somehow i don't think so) haha

I think you need more horsepower for what u want.

Here ya go. Motive gears are really good gears from what i've heard and researched. Not just saying that because its the gears i got, saying it because all the research and talking to ppl/mechanics showed them as being good gears. Motive gears are pre-broken-in. mine were very reasonably priced too.
Here is where i got mine

installation kit

unless you have way over 60k, i wouldn't do a masterbearing kit. But of course it wouldn't hurt if you did just cost more.

Of course there are plenty good brands out there, i just think motive has good prices on theirs. I mean, if you find a GOOD gear set for cheaper than the motives, i'd go with them. I'm a bargain shopper! lol
Goodluck
