destroyed Xfer case ext. housing
ok, i changed my u joints yesterday during test drive noticed excess vibration.
this morning i checked to make sure match marks were all lined up. Decided to take another test drive and at 71mph one of the new joins blew apart. My best guess is the c clip was not completely seated. i drove the truck 1/2 mile back home at about 5mph. I replaced the destroyed u joing and took another test drive, everything was good except tranny fluid leaking all over driveway, after further investigation ii discoverd that the xfer case ext housing was cracked almost all the way around. Since it looks like i will be replacing the housing i was wondering if it is typically a dealer item and if there were any tips for making this any easier than it looks. stock 2003 f150 4x4 auto-electonic shift

i would like to say that anyone reading this post..if you change your ujoints...MAKE SURE THAT THE CLIPS ARE COMPLETED SEATED!!
what can i expect to find in this extension housing? it looks like i ca slide the t/c back and then remove the housing?
should/will there be fluid in this area?
can i post pics in here?
thanks again
