Unhappy Steering help needed

So I get into my truck tonight and when I turn the wheel to the left it makes a pop/knock noise. It only does it when I turn left and back straight again. Anyone have any ideas on what it might be.????

are you moving or still?

if you are 4wd then check the cvs. if not, might be the rear end.

almost seems like someone needs to make a sticky to remind people in the 97-04 trucks to go ahead and service their rear differential. seems like a lot of posts are popping up with this being the problem.

It does it when the truck is not moving. I got under it today to take a look and checked the tie rods and the drivers side is nice and tight, but the passenger side has just a little play. I think that might be the problem. Any opinions on this theory??

check your ball joints and the condition of your tie rod ends. might be time for a new idler arm as well.
