4.88's brand?

Does anyone have any experience with "motive performance plus" gears? How are they?

The shop I am getting 4:56s put in says that Motive and Yukon are the ONLY brands they will touch. I assume they are reputable.

First one, not sure really. I could not keep the ring gear bolted together for a while, it kept chucking bolts. then 5-6 months after i remedied that with tack welds the pinion exploded on my way to work with a stock 4.6

Second, one was one too many heavy footed accelerations with the blown 5.4 i think. All i know on that one was it really let go hard. It split my bearing cup, shattered the bearing spacer on the drivers side, obviously destroyed the pinion and severely mangled the ring gear.

Well, the second one might be understandable. But that first one would make me nervous. I'll def stay away from genuine. Thanks for the pics and info!

4.88 yukons here. No complaints and have been beating them for a while now.
