4X4 Problems

4X4 Problems

I have an 04 f150, i went to put it in 4wd today light came on herd it click at the t case but still nothing. Last year i replaced both vacume hubs and the selonoid it was working great untill now. Has anyone had thier 4wd freeze up. its dam cold here so im just wondering.

how cold? at a certain point it becomes very hard for the t case to shift at all.

so i found a broken vaccume line. but i thought that if i didnt have vaccume i would be locked in 4wd? What is the best way to fix the broken line?

The hubs are locked in their place now. Which means that your front diff and transfer case are spinning but not powered. the four wheel drive system is spinning due to the vaccum not holding the hub back off the actual tire, but the four wheel drive is not getting anypower from the engine. That doesn't happen till your turn the switch and the t case motor shifts to power the front driveline as well. but the strange thing is you said it is not even engaging?

okay so i have vacume when its not engaged. when i engage the vacume is gone so those are working right. Is thier anything that has to engage on the front diff?
Also when i put it in 4low the t case does go into the low gears so that is working too.
