I have slight play in my front drivers side wheel bearing....is it possible to replace just the bearing or do I have to replace the entire $300 hub????

No, don't need the rotor for that one. The bearing can be replaced.

There is a How To Forum but I don't believe there is one for that application. Take a look. I will do a Search, see if I find anything.

On the 4wd , I don't show that procedure, just the entire hub. - Leads me to believe that's what needs to be replaced. PM your email and I'll send you that procedure. Or , just purchase a Haynes or Chilton's book for about 20 bucks.

well autozone sells the entire hub for $300 (wow) and the bearing for about $20 so I am guessing that you can just replace the bearings....can't believe I am the only one that has wondered about this!

Yea ,the 2wd is simple - Shows just the bearing and I did a 99 1 ton. That was a simple pack and replace. Let us know what you find on the 4x4. Like I said , I can send you that one from service. The procedure is to long to post here.

Yep, it's probably pressed in then.

BTW - I sent you a 3 page PDF from Ford Service for the 03 model year. Open w/Adobe

Thanks to FordTech1.
