anyway to tell what gears......
if they are factory, there should be a tag or two on the bolts on the cover on the rear axle.
if its been regeared, jack the truck up, put stands under the axle, put the truck in "N" spin the driveshaft (while counting) and see how many drive shaft turns it takes to get one full revolution of the tires.

there are 3 ways. If the gears have never been changed, there should be a tag on the drivers door that has axel code. Get that number and compare to thelist. It will be something like 19 or could be a letter and a number. You can also look on the pumpkin, there is usually a tag on it that will be stamped with the ratio, such as 3.55. Then you can mark the driveshaft and mark a tire with the ground. Make a full turn of the tire and count the rotations of the drive shaft. Might be 3.33, 3.55, or maybe 3.73.
