How much will 4.30 gear help?

I have an '05 SCab 4.6 2wd with 3.73s. I don't know my 1/4 time, but I run a 7.1 0-60. How much will 4.30 gear help my time? is it worth it? I've been debating on getting it for a while and I will finally be able to afford it in August.

Well sure it will help bottom end but why? What is the motive for wanting the gear swap?

With a 4.6L Super Cab pickup? You'd need some SERIOUS power adders before it is even vaguely respectable light to light... And even then, you'd have to hack off a LOT of weight from the truck...

For that purpose, go even lower - at LEAST 4.56's if not 4.88's or 5.13's.

im changing to 430's from 373's in the near future. my 4.6 scab, does fairly decent as long as im not pulling anything. this thing is a dog. Temping to go to 456 but not with std size tire. Just for the record, 430's arent as readily availalbe, there just not as popular, and you cant get reverse cut for 4 x 4's. Motive is the only manufacture i've found for the 975 R & P. Dont go to Richmond or US gear unless noise is not a problem, they are not intended for street use. I wished i had got the 5.4.......if you do much freeway driving,,you'l be stopping at a lot of gas stations if u have factory tires, with 456, 488, not to mention 513!
