EGR valve delete

EGR valve delete

anyone ever delete this thing a buddy of mine in a stang said it was a wise thing to do, but i thought id ask u guys first, if it is something to do does anyone have a kit to block it off or delete it? there any pros and cons to it also?

slight increase in fuel economy, thats about it. Requires custom tuning as well.

you'll fail state inspection if your inspector knows its no longer there.

how can i turn this thing off in a tune with my edge and whats a good delete kit? where can one b picked up at?

cant do it with an edge. you need to speak to a person who makes cutom tunes...PHP, Troyer, ect..

pretty much all you do is take the valve off and anything connected to it. then you put a plate where it hooks up to the intake and a plug in the manifold.

to get the code to go away follow paralyzer's advice and seek out someone who will write you a program. since you have an edge already, look into gryphon. not sure if they do egr deletes though.

It's not going to do anything for you unless you have a lot of other mods, except cause you to fail emissions. On a stock or close to stock motor, it's not going to help you. It's not like the old days before computerized engine control systems, where EGR was a pain in the ****.
