Is it a gear issue??
Is it a gear issue??
I have a 05 supercrew with the 5.4 and 3.73 gears.
I have noticed the last few days that with my AC on especially that the low end in my truck is just slow. I have gone from the stock 31's to 33's which I know would throw it off a bit but it just seems real sluggish. Sometimes if I am on a slight hill and need to pass or something I get no real response from the engine or it slowly creeps up then changes gears and takes off. I also pull my boat sometimes so I am all about low end torque. I wasn't sure if it is a real issue or if changing gears would make a difference. My Gryphon is on it's way so I thought I might wait and see what differences that made before I did anything else as it will change some of the shift points and I can change the tire size in the programming.
Any thoughts or people notice the same issue??

pretty much everything has happened as to be expected.
the tires slowed things a bit and the a/c compressor robs a little power when it is engaged. so yea, nothing you can really do about it except do some mods to get some of that power loss back.
re-gearing will help a little but a 4.56 gear will probably be too tall for your purposes and a 4.10, i don't think, will be beneficial.
tune that gryphon up and see how she growls then.
