That gears and best place to buy...

Within the next 2 or 3 months I want to change my gears. I'm going to go with 4.88's. What are the best gears to go with and where would be the cheapest to get them? I'll get a local shop to change them for me.

you can get a lot more info by searching "ring and pinion" or "gears"

yukon is a good brand. the name of the other more notable gears slips my mind at the moment.

As usual, you can always go to Jegs and/or Summit Racing.

My gears are Ford Racing Performance Parts. Nothing wrong with Ford gears. You might even be able to get them at a good price, + install, at a dealership.

I noticed that alot of guys were running the yukon gears. I have a few freind with mustangs who are running ford racing gears so was also wondering about those. I think I may try the dealer where I bought the truck and see what kind of price they give me.

I've owned Ford Racing and Richmond. Richmonds are better quality than FR but they are a lot louder, darn near bullet proof though. I would recommend a LSD or Locker depending on what you plan on using the 4.88's for which brings me to my next question, why 4.88's? You lifted or something? 4.10's is about all you need for a street application if that's what you fall under.

Ford Racing Performance Parts gears are fine. I have no complaints. Ford parts were made to go into Ford cars.
