Interesting Cruise Control Info.

i don't know if this has been said, but apparently, you can upgrade to the cruise control option with simply a steering wheel with the buttons.

My friends dad is a mechanic at a ford dealership and says that all the 04-08 trucks are wired for cruise control from the factory.

All you need to do is connect the wires and harnesses and you'll be good to go.

just thought i'd let anyone with out it know

you are about 99% right...the first 04-05 4.2L trucks had a conventional throttle cable and were not prewired...every truck besides those are wired

ohh alright, thanks man!

my best friends dad is a mechanic at ford, i was up there all night saturday night workin on my truck's recalibration and washing my truck (using all of fords nice detailing chemicals and car wash, haha) and alligning, etc.

one of his buddys came up to me and asked me if i had cruise control,i said yes, and he went into how it could be done if i hadn't had it.

i just figured if anyone wanted it and didn't have it, they could do it relatively cheap and easily if desired.

thanks for the info man!

I have a 2006 4.2L F150 auto, and I actually don't have cruise control. So, where would you go to buy a steering wheel with those options. Also, is it something that could be changed in the driveway?

yeah, im pretty sure it can be done in the driveway for sure. it shouldn;t be any harder than wiring up and aftermarket head unit.

you can get the steering wheel through ford, or a junk yard, other than that i'm not sure.

hopefully someone else will chime in
