Does that include parts ?
I did mine last week and parts cost me $419.00 thats Motive gears and Master install Kit. I also dropped the differential and took it to the shop where they did the exchange of the old and new gears and that cost $360.00. So thats a pretty good price for everything the stealership would want $1,500.00 to do it.

I have my own gears and I was quoted $350 for labor, bearings, and everything else.

Ya thats with gears and the master kit. I priced out the gears and master kit and its right above $400, so $350 for the install is pretty good.

In my old 97 I did gears, lsd, kit, fluids and labor for less than $1K back in TX. I try to find the local guys that have the experience but without the fee of a overstocked shop. You don't need many tools to do it and I've found that bigger companies charge you more becuase they have a shop to upkeep. You think you are only paying for the tools they use but their actually charging you for all the others even though they don't use them. Gotta maintain the lifts right? Even if you don't use it you still have to maintain it and that cost money. I would look around.

It's not a bad price. You might be able to get better. You could even negotiate that price. Or buy the parts cheaper somewhere else, like on the internet, and then have them install it. They do have a price match policy. Ask them for a detailed quote on labor and parts. Then if you can find the same parts for less, ask them to match the price.

4 Wheel Parts Performance Centers installed my lift kit & gears. The techs at my local shop are sharp. Your local shop could suck the big one. You'll notice that there are a lot of bad reviews for 4WheelParts.com. But with a chain that size, there are bound to be good and bad outlets. You'll notice that not every WalMart Tire Center sucks. Some can actually do a good job at the discount prices. It just depends on who the tech is.
