Mag Hytec diff cover install question

I just noticed the EVAP canister mounting bracket is very close to the top of the mag hytec cover. All though its not touching I fell if I was to load the truck down it would hit the top of the larger mag hytec diff cover.

Anyone else notice this? I dont like it.

This is on my 07 F-150 4x4 stock height in rear.

Hey, I had the same problem. My truck's lowered 2.5".The bracket came down on my cover cooling fins like a guillotine. I heard the impact a few times on compression travel and got under the truck to check it out. I used a cut off wheel about 1.5" back from the front of the curved bracket (1.5" from parallel to ground) and cut it off.

I made an L bracket and reused the existing 4 bolts and sleeves that held the quick mount plate. I just place the L where I made the cut off and went up with it towards the front of the EVAP. It took me about 45 minutes to stare at the problem, be bummed out about it, and fabricate a solution. Cordless cut off and drill, hell you could probably use a Simpson Tie from Home Depot (Deck brackets). There's really very little load on the front of that EVAP so don't go overkill.

Hope my explanation/solution makes sense. If not, shoot me your phone in my message box and I'll call you to talk.

Where your spare meets the bracket in your pic's where I cut it off. I'll try and get you a shot early this week. I may need some guidance on getting the shot into the reply post. Stay tuned.

Hey I've got the pic loaded but I can't get it into the post. Tried reading the FAQ about uploading pics, no help. Sent a message to your email through the site, let me know.

email and pic sent. Hope it helps. You can see where it (factory bracket) hit the top of the cooling fin, there's a little notch.

You can measure the travel to the bump stops on either side of the axle, which'll give you a pretty definite indication of that bracket's travel over the differential. My truck only has the leveling shackle in the rear from Ford Motorsport, but there was no question that evap bracket had to go. Good luck.
