Vibration Between 35-45 MPH

I have had a vibration since I bought my truck back in Nov. 2007 and I attributed it to the broken belt in the front drivers tire. It seems to vary in intensity and gets worse right at 40 MPH. The vibration seems to really come on when breaking from around 50+ MPH; it starts slightly and then at about 40 MPH its bad and then gradually goes away and after 35 MPH.

I replaced the tires in the summer of 2008 and still had the vibration (wheels and tires were rebalanced at this time). This helped slightly but I still have the vibration. I thought it might of been the rotors, so I replaced them as well, but I still have the vibration.

Another issue I have is that I get a 'clunk' (actually, it's more of a 'clunk' mixed with a 'pop', lol) coming from the front end when backing up with my wheels cut deep.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what these problems might be?

Thanks for any help!

Mickey

have you checked to see if the driveshaft is balanced. I had the same issue, smooth until it got to between 80-100 kph, past that smooth. Turned out one of the weights on the driveshaft fell off, also it was slight bent. The driveline shop welded a new weight and straightened it, been smooth ever since and its been almost 3 yrs.

That was a thought floating around my head too.. I will have to check it out soon. Will I see where a weight would of fallen off by the difference in color maybe?
