Torque Management??

Hey guys, I have a 2004 FX4 s-crew...I have upgraded the tires to a 305/55/20 Terra Grappler all terrain. I can't, from a dead stop, turn the tires over. The truck has just shy of 70k on it, up on maintenence. Is there some sort of torque management system on these trucks??

What size is the engine? 5.4L or 4.6L? I have a 2001 Screw with 5.4L and 275/55/20. It currently has the 3.55 LS but will be getting an upgrade this week because of having the same problem. Going with 4.11 gear and a Detroit TrueTrac. Will not spin the tires on dry pavement and sucks when I pull my boat.

I have the 5.4, Plenty of the "passing" power. Its not a slug off of the line, just wont kick the tires. Not a huge deal....but would be nice! With it wet...its almost un-controlable if you kick it...

Yes there is a ridiculous TM system on these trucks. In the 3 months or so I've owned mine, that was my biggest complaint. Hesitation to shift into gear, shifting as soon as the tires broke free, etc. All that can be modified and removed with the addition of a tuner of some kind. I had mine all taken out about 2 months ago and have loved it since. No performance mods for me other than that and I do have 35's, but they break free MUCH easier now when that extra power is needed.

Thank you TJ05FX4. I thought that a new tune would help straighten that out, but just didnt know for sure.
