I have 3.73s in the front and rear differential gears in my 07 F150 5.4L with a 4 speed automatic. Would I be better off going to a 4.10 gear ratio? Let's put it this way. I don't tow very often, other than my skateboard and my chunky little neice. I don't offroad often but when I do I get in places where I should get stuck. I love driving quick, taking little turbo Eclipses off the line. Would putting a 4.10 fit me? I'm not entirely familiar with the effect of lowering the gear ratio on the transmission for acceleration.

 

You're not going to see much of a difference from 3.73 to 4.10.
