Bad Bearing?

Hey guys I have a 2000 F150 4x4 with abs and about 86k miles. After about 30 minutes of highway driving I slow down to a stop sign or light and I hear a high pitch whine coming from the front driver side wheel below 20mph. I recently replaced my brakes and rotors which has not fixed the problem and the whine does not change when I press the brake. I even shut my truck off, left it in neutral and let it roll down a hill and i still heard the whine. The whine isn't too loud, i.e. I can't hear it if the radio is on. I have been talking to some people and they say it is probably the bearing which is what I initially thought. Anyone have any thoughts?? Thanks -Mike

Usually, a bearing will make a bumping noise that can be felt when you turn in that direction. Turn left, left front wheel. It would be a hum sound if you were going straight. I guess it could still be a bearing even without the bumping, but I do not remember ever having one myself.

I guess you can describe the noise as a hum. It doesn't matter which way I turn the wheel, the pitch of the noise stays the same.

It could be a tire or something in the 4x4 hub.

I've decided to try replacing the hub assembly. I've been looking at Proline, SKF, and National Bearings. Which, if any do you recommend?? Thanks for the help.
