mine has just started to do it as well, it seams as if it comes and goes, and isn't consistant when you turn from stop to stop. It seams as if it has hrd spots in it?

Mine also whines. I have replaced the serp belt and the tension seems ok. I have 150K miles and planning on changing the fluid soon. Had a Lincoln LS with the same problem and Ford added a lubrication additive to it and the whine never was heard again. I see you have UD pulleys and large tires, maybe the pump is being overloaded at low RPM's. Is anyone else with the same setup as yours experincing the same problem?
