Transfer case whine

hey guys. Ive been searching through this whole site and various others and havent run across a similar problem to what i got. i have a 2001 f150 7700 and my transfer case is really noisy. sound like a chain spinning. just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and what you did to fix it.
Thanx for any information you might have

Could be a output shaft bearing wearing. Have you looked at it?

Have you checked the fluid level? Have you ever changed the fluid?

checked the bearings and they were good, fluid is a little old has maybe 25000 kilometers on it. i was told that the chain is old and probally needs to be replaced.
