Exclamation 4.10 or 4.56?

i was wondering what would be the better set-up for my newly lifted f150 XLT 2wd. i put on a 6" superlift suspension and 3" body to clear 35x12.5 mud terrains. i obivously need new gears and was wondering if i should go with the 410 or 456 ratio. it's my daily driver that will see little off road and nothing serious (remember its a 2 wheeler). i have 3.55' in there now if that helps info wise. any help would be appreciated as i need this info ASAP!....thanks again

Talking

Well Cajunbuck, I called a local place here and talked to them about this. I have the 3.55 rear end too and 35's. Acording to "Earl" if I went to a 4.30 rear end I would be right back where I started. Then I asked which one he would do and he told me that He'd always Gone with more gear than he needed. I was leaning toward the 4.56 before, but now I'm gonna get them for sure.

cajunbuck,

What tires did you get from the factory?
If you have the 4.6L then you have the 8.8 rear end. If you have the 5.4 then you have the 9.75 rear. So please also let me know what engine you have.

Wink

i have a 94 with a 5.0 v8 302. it does have an 8.8 rear with the factory limited slip in it (3L55 on the diff tag). The tires are firestone 235/75/15, but i bought new 15x8 eagle alloys to mount the new 35x12.5's on.

thanks for all that took the time to help me out with this!

cajunbuck,

Try the following sight for ratio info: http://www.ford-trucks.com/tfts/calc.htm
Accordincording to them you need a 4.30 gear to bring it back to spec. A 4.56 ( closest ford gear to 4.6 in an 8.8 carrier) will give you a bit more go.
