2006 F-150 4x4 Front Axle Engagement
I have 2 questions.
1) How does the front axle of the 2006 4x4 F-150 front axle engage? I had a 1991 S-10 that had a slip collar that connected the differential output on the driver side to the passenger side axle, are the systems similar. The reason I ask is that I would be interested in installing a spool in the front if the front tires are not connected untill in 4x4 mode. (the driveshaft would always be turning...is this the case already...do you see any issues with this) If there is a collar connecting the two axles have you heard of any failures?
2) I have a factory limited slip/posi track/track lock/whatever people are calling them these days rear axle. Does it have clutch packs?
Any links with information pertaining to these two topics would be appreciated.

2. If you have the LS your rear diff is limited slip and does use a clutch pack. The front is always and open diff, so no clutch pack there.
