Thanx. I'm even leaning toward a 4.56 ratio since I don't hit the highway much any more except around town. I've still have the original wheels and tires but may go to 18's and wider tires. I just got to get a tuner first to change the computer and tune in some spark and fuel. There goes my 2k. i'm old in years but young at heart.

If you have a 5.4, your rear should be a 9.75".

Really? I wasn't aware that was even made. I'll check with my local shop.

Front will be 8.8, but rear should be 9.75.

Wish I'd gone down to Helm and picked up a book. I see a lot of 8.8 stuff for sale but nothing for a 9.75. As long as the price remains what they quoted me.

Make sure to mention that the front gears are reverse cut.

I called them back and mentioned I may want to go as high as 4.56 and they said they have evrything I need, just bring money. I think they've been in business since the 60's. They've done all my rear end work I've ever needed.

Kaboom, I have the same axles as you. I had 4.88s put in my 9.75 rear first of december and I am getting the front 8.8 done next week.

The only difference in quoted prices would probably be the Install kits. The 9.75 Master Install kit is twice (about $200 depending on where you are)the price of the 8.8, other than that you should be golden

Thanx for the info. I see all these 8.8 diffs used in so many vehicles and I was hoping I had something stronger. Some loads get really heavy at times and I want to get moving. Then I like to get on it on the street. I noticed in the towing weight tables how the lower ratios pull more gross weight.

I called them back about the cost of 4.56 ratio and they said add $200. What are you doing putting 4.88's in? I used that ratio drag racing my BB 57 chev. Sure was quick with street tires.

I have 35's on the truck now, with expectations of going with a 37 or 38 when the time is right. This summer I will be pulling 4 wheelers as well.

I only really drive around town. Sure the gas mileage hits on the highway, but it makes up for it around town

Zat's a good lookin' ride bro. Of course I've got one to but I don't have it lifted more than it is. It's hard for me to get into it with a bum knee.

nice ride yourself. I came very close to buying a truck almost identical to what you have.
