I think 4.88s will be a little much. With my 37x13.5s i wished I had 4.56s. I would think about 4.56s or 4.30s would be a better move. But that is just my thinking. I'm about 10 mph over on my speedo at 60 with 4.88s. so a 4.56 should put me right on. With 35s on urs 4.30s should be close.

If I had a supercharger I would go 4.56 or 4.30.

There are pics in my gallery. You have to go to photo galleries up top, and then look for my name. I got easily discouraged trying to link the two up.

(Not sure, ..... but did I just hijack this thread explaining thread hijacking? LoL
Oooops )

Back to the subject at hand.........
Could someone explain the difference in all the ratios being thrown around? And for which applications are each ratio recommended? Someone had a tidbit about the 4.88's whining out the engine on the highway? (explain) and would that be any part due to the tire size?
Thanks Guys!

It depends on your application. Do you tow? Do you drive highway or city more often? Are 35's the biggest tire you will run? Each of these questions comes into play. On this forum the rule is 4.56 for 35's; 4.88 for 37+. Im running 35's now and 38's in the future. I save $2,000+ dollars by "overgearing" now. Yes the "engine whine" would be due to the tire size= more revolutions.
