What front diff do I have?

I've got a '01 F-150 7700 4x4. I am going to be looking at re-gearing it, but i'm just not 100% sure on what diff I have in the front. I think its a 8.8", and I know my rear is a 10.25". But can anyone confirm it? Also is a ring and pinion for a rear 8.8 the same for a front 8.8?
I have 3.73 gears right now, and I am installing 35" tires, so I want to go at least 4.10s, but maybe higher? Any suggestions on the gearing I should get, and what brand of ring and pinion, and what locker I should get for the rear for a 10.25" ? I'm also thinking of a LS or locker for the front? Anybody had any experience with this?

If it wasn't a 7700lb, I could say for sure it was an 8.8. Look at the tag on it. If it is an 8.8, it will say something like 88 on it plus the gear ratio. If a 9.75 it will say 975.

I'm not aware of Ford offering a different front differential for any F-150. AFAIK, the 8.8 is the only option.

Yupp your right, it is a 8.8" up front. There wasn't a 9.75 ifs available from what I understand.

I would not put a LS or locker in the front if it's a daily driver.

Usually people leave their front end open on a DD because when turning, especially on icy or slippery conditions your rig will want to keep going straight when the LS or locker engages. I could also see it being pretty hard on the front drivetrain on everyday dry pavement driving. Might get some hopping or alot of extra strain in the diff, axles, etc? I was just wondering what kinds of LS and lockers were available for the 8.8" IFS diff if I ever end up turning my truck into a trail only rig.
