You know that "thunk" sound when taking off...

I developed the "thunk...thunk" sound when accelerating from a dead stop...most annoying. I debated about taking it to the dealer but wasn't really relishing that idea.

Anyway, the other morning on the way to work, this idiot in front of me decides to make a left turn and stops in the road, no turn signal or nothing. So I was almost at a complete stop and I decide to go around. I have one tire on the asphalt and the other is in rough, hard clay. I accelerate rapidly (because I was pissed) and kick up dirt and debris while the right rear tire is hoping all over the place. To make a long story short, the "thunk thunk" is no longer there. It's gone completely.

I don't know what I did but it's smooth and quiet now when I accelerate and I'm very happy!

It will probably come back soon. Sounds like carrier bearing problem.

Are you a certified Ford Tech? Just wondering because of your sig.

Anyway, if it returns, it's off to the dealer for sure.

No, I'm not a Ford tech. I had a business that serviced truck fleets and they had nothing but F150s and 250s from '98s to '02s. These trucks were abused by the drivers and in the 5 yrs I learned alot. Just thought the logo was a cool sig for this site. Your problem could be something else so getting it checked out would be my best advise if you are not knowledgeable of rearends.
