Question tire size and drivetrain wear

Just purchased a 97 F150 SC 4wd; 4.6L, 8.8 diff, 3.55, 55500 miles. Previous owner changed from 235/70s to 265/75s. Can I expect any additional wear/strain on the drivetrain or will it handle the larger tires just fine? I would consider dropping to 245s but don't want to go any smaller. It seems like a lot of trucks I see have the larger differential.

Larger (9.75") diff comes with the 5.4L engine. The drivetrain should easily handle the 265s. Even the suspension won't complain! I've been running 285 on the Expedition for over 3 years now without a problem. The only thing is that larger tires will reduce the amount of "oomph" you feel and the amount of load that you can tow.
