Just re-sealed differential cover.. question about fluid.

I just popped my diff. cover off, cleaned, RTV'd, and bolted it back on.

I measured out the recommended amount of fluid (2.75 quarts or so i believe)

Now, is fluid SUPPOSED to come out of the fill plug to tell you its full? I would think yes, because other applications of a 'fill plug' would do that (I.E. on my 50HP Evinrude, the lower unit is 'full' when fluid wont go in anymore because it comes out of the fill plug..)

Just wondering because I want to make sure that I put 'enough' in.

Thanks!

No. Ford changed the specs for the fill level. Read this caption.

Excellent. 5.5pints = 2.75 quarts, so I should be good to go
