you could probably get a new rearend (or atleast a good used one) cheaper than having it repaired and have more piece of mind and spare parts if you get one from a junkyard. you could try a reputable off road shop if you have one nearby,i'd say that would be your best bet to see what it'd cost to have it repaired. i don't know how much a new one would be but you should atlest be able to get a new housing from a junkyard for a couple hundred bucks then just swap everything into it. so,basically to answer your question you can have it repaired but with all the labor and parts to repair it i would guess you could probably replace it cheaper. and it would have to be a plce you would trust, cause its alot harder to weld a new axle tube on than just replace the whole thing so it takes more experience

so your saying the hub end of the axle is bent?
Pull the axle install a new end bearing and put in a new axle. Do not drive it until this is done.

well, that would be a good question i was thinkin the housing was bent but if it's just the axle then just replace the axle with a new bearing and seal. you should still have it checked by a good shop if you're not mechanically inclined to make sure it didn't screw up the carrier

I used to work at an auto salvage yard (a pretty expensive one) and they charged around $600-$750 for a whole rearend, brakes and everything.

If the axle shaft is bent, replace it. Don't even think about trying to fix it.

Had this happen to a friend with a 97 blazer. Make sure to check the diff out and all the carrier bearings. The shock from the rim slamming the curb damaged a few parts dealing with his differential. Turns out new axle shaft, bearings, seals and OEM LS diff later he was back in business. turned out to be a very expensive mistake costing his parents almost 2k

How does this happen? Like were you messing around and you whipped your truck into a curb? Or did you do it by running over the curb?
