wire hanging down from rear axel

Hey guys, just signed up to the forum to see if I can get some help before rushing to the dealer.

I have a 99 f-150 and I just noticed a wire hanging down near the rear axel. Apparently its attached to the rear axel. There is a connector that connects it and this other wire to the rear axel. The other wire is silver and very thin which comes from the front of the truck. This wire then runs directly into the driver side rear wheel. Not sure if this is a break thing or what.

The wire that is hanging is about 1/4 of an inch thick and is hollow inside. I have no idea where it attaches to.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Yeah, I noticed this on my 03 Screw. No need for alarm I think it is a brake line but not sure. Dont worry I have seen it on several trucks.

Sounds like the vent tube for your rear end if it's hollow.
