Spider Gear Replacement

I have a 93 with a 373 ratio. I had the cover off last fall and noticed that the spider gears were badly worn as well as the pin. The rest of the gears were fine. I would like to replace only what I have to. Does anyone know if I can use the spider gears out of any standard 10 bolt rear end, or do I have to look for another 373? Is there a difference, for example, between the spider gears in a 373, a 355, and a 308?

Thanks!

They should interchange as long as you interchange open diff. to open diff. or L/S to L/S. The only other variation; in 1984 or 1985 Ford went from 3/4" diameter spider pin to 7/8" diameter pin on the 8.8" axle. Just make sure you get internals from a 1985 or newer. The early model 8.8's with the 3/4" spider pin parts are NLA. When servicing 3/4" diameter pin components you have to update by purchasing a new Differential nest assembly and the newer style case (M4204F318 for the open diff.), which has the 7/8" diameter spider pin.

The side bearing kit# A-36 (if needed).

Thanks gearman! That is awesome. I have a rear end from an 84 and it has the smaller pin so I knew I couldn't use it. I was confused by that but now I see why it is like that.
